PHYSICAL THERAPY

Physical Therapy Services at HealthBridge focuses on treating the whole child and their individual needs to get back to school, sports and home. The team focuses on functional limitations as a result of the child’s diagnosis. Our physical therapists are experienced in Neuro Developmental Treatment (NDT), Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF), and a variety of other developmental instruments. They understand the physical and mental challenges a child can face during the recovery process. They work with other team members and families to help each child achieve his or her optimal developmental and functional levels.

We treat children with physical deficits due to a number of complex medical issues. Specific diagnosis may include, but are not limited to:

  • Brain Injury

  • Cerebral Palsy

  • Vascular Impairments

  • Demyelinating Diseases

  • Guillain Barre Syndrome

  • Down Syndrome

  • Spinal Cord Injury

  • Tumor Resection

  • Complicated Orthopedic Conditions

Our Approach to Treatment

Our Physical Therapy treatment at HealthBridge focuses on the mobility of the child through direct one-on-one therapy and parent/caregiver education for carryover between therapy sessions. Patients undergo a comprehensive assessment prior to beginning therapy to determine a treatment plan based on their unique needs. Progress is monitored and goals are updated and modified as needed. The patient’s physician determines frequency and duration of treatment with input from our physical therapists.

  • Head, trunk and postural control issues
